Meghan (born January 6, 1986 in Lemoore, CA) is an American
long-distance runner.
As a high school student at Tualatin High School in Tualatin,
Oregon Meghan's accomplishments included 4 All-State performances in cross
country and 7 All-State performances in track and field. Meghan was a 3 time
runner-up at the Oregon State High School Cross Country Championships and on
the track her lowest finish in any event was a 2nd place finish her freshman
year in the 1,500m. Meghan would go on to win state titles in the 1,500m as
well as the 3,000m events in the next three consecutive years, making her the
only Oregon High School prep athlete to do so.
Meghan went on to attend the University of Iowa, where she was a
4-time NCAA Division I All-American, 2-time Big Ten Champion and set the school
record in the 1,500m at 4:17.41. She held collegiate bests of: 4:17.41 in
the 1,500m, 9:18.30 in the 3,000m, 16:08.83 in the 5,000m and 33:28.0 in the
10,000m. In addition to earning many other accolades during her athletic career
at Iowa, Meghan also graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Integrative
Physiology.
Meghan joined the professional ranks in 2008 when she became a
member of Team USA Minnesota, coached by Dennis Barker and organized by
Patricia Goodwin. Since joining the team Meghan has risen through the ranks of
American distance running, recording personal best times in every event from
the 5,000m and up and earned a spot to compete at the 2012 USA Olympic Team
Trials Marathon. She has been a member of 4 USA National Teams, representing
her country in prestigious events such as the Chiba Ekiden, the NACAC Track and
Field Championships and the Bupa Great Edinburgh Cross Country Challenge.

Personal Life:
In 2010 Meghan married her high school sweetheart Cole Peyton. They
live in Richfield, Minnesota and when weather permits enjoy playing golf and
traveling the world.
